How much notice do you need?
Normally, we need three days notice but can provide a caregiver in 24 hours if necessary.
How are your caregivers selected?
All of our caregivers are thoroughly interviewed, reference checked and triple screened. We conduct a private investigation into their criminal, civil and driving records. Every caregiver is an employee of ours and they are bonded and insured for additional protection.
Who pays the caregiver?
We do. They are our employees and are paid through our regular payroll. We take care of all their employment, payroll taxes, insurance, social security and worker’s compensation so that you don’t have to worry about anything.
What are your rates?
Our rates for live-in and hourly care are affordable and competitive. For a specific quote, please contact us @ (801) 746-5558.
Does insurance cover the cost?
Only long-term care insurance policies. Health insurance generally does not cover these services. If you have long-term care coverage, we can accept assignment directly from your insurance carrier and bill them on your behalf.
Does any government program cover the cost?
Not usually. Medicare does not currently cover the cost of our services, but may in the future.
What happens when the caregiver needs time off?
We provide a relief person with similar experience to cover for them. The primary caregiver can take time off when they want as long as it doesn’t interfere with the client’s schedule or plans. It may take place on weekends or three or four days off after several weeks of work. Sometimes the caregiver prefers no regular time off. If the caregiver gets sick, we can replace them quickly. Once a caregiver is placed, the client is never left without care. (Exceptions when appropriate: Short trips to the market, pharmacy, etc.)
Can you do short term care?
Yes, short-term care to us is less than four weeks and we can accommodate the shorter term.
What if there is a couple living together?
Our base rates are for a single individual. There is generally a thirty percent (may be adjusted) surcharge for an extra individual in the home regardless of the level of care, if any, the second person needs.
Can you do five days a week if the client’s children can manage the care on the weekends?
Yes.
Can I interview the caregivers first?
Our company is responsible for screening, hiring, managing and scheduling the caregivers and we have many years experience in this area. Our initial evaluation with the client and family will help to develop a profile of the type of caregiver the client needs and wants. If a client wants to change caregivers for any reason, we will do so at no charge, as many times as necessary until the client is completely satisfied, that is our “Warranty of Compatibility”.
Can your service care for a client in a facility (hospital, nursing home, or assisted living)?
Yes. We can provide services to care facility residents who desire one-to-one companionship and personal care.
Can you accept payments weekly?
Our system is geared to four-week intervals between payments. A statement is sent once every four weeks. (Exceptions can be made in hardship cases.)
Do you bill before or after service is rendered?
All service is prepaid, usually four weeks at a time. An agreement is entered into for four weeks of service and payment is due upon signing the agreement. It is the nature of the work that should a client pass away; there may not be a means to collect.
What if the client has to go into a facility?
Our services will be temporarily ‘put on hold’, until the client returns home.
What if the client just wants to terminate service before the end of the service period in the contract?
They can do this by giving ten days written notice. A refund will be made for all days of service not rendered, less the administrative start-up fee during the first service period (usually four weeks). After that, a full refund will be made for any unused days. Refund payments will be sent within 30 days of the last day of service.
