Let Us Help You Receive the BENEFITS You've
Earned to Get the CARE You Deserve.

The VA Aid and Attendance Benefit is an important benefit and is often overlooked by many veterans and their spouses. The VA does not normally contact veterans to inform them of a benefit. Sadly, very few people are aware that this benefit exists. At Home Personal Care works diligently to provide our families and community the information needed to obtain this widely under-used benefit.
The Aid and Attendance Pension provides benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to assist in eating, bathing, dressing and undressing or taking care of the needs of nature. It also includes individuals who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted care in an assisting living facility and private duty or home care are included.
Here are the 2010 Maximum Monthly Pension Rates for Aid and Attendance
- Veteran, Married (1 Dependent) $1,945
- Veteran, Single $1,644
- Surviving Spouse $1,055
- Veterans married to another Veteran $2,580
To qualify for Aid & Attendance:
- At least 90 days of active duty, but need not have served in combat
- One day of active duty during a period of war
- Discharged from service under conditions other than dishonorable
- It needs to be established by your physician that you require daily assistance by others to dress, undress, bathing, cooking, eating, taking on or off of prosthetics, leave home etc. You DO NOT have to require assistance with all of these. There simply needs to be adequate medical evidence that you cannot function completely on your own.
